Adima

Adima

Adima offering commonly known as “ADIMA SAMARPANAM” is the complete self-surrendering of the believers to the Lord through the intercession of St. Antony. The foundation of “ADIMA SAMAPANAM” lays in the Holy Bible. The first book of Samuel in the Old Testament says of Hanna, who vows before God, "If you give me a son, I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life." It is the promise of self-surrendering, before the Lord, taken by a person as a sign of gratitude for the blessing received through the mediation of St. Antony. It is also a prayer for seeking the protection and intercession of St. Antony in one’s life. On every Tuesday (Novena Day) after each Novena prayer the priests, invoking the intercession of St. Antony, perform this prayer by laying their anointed hands on the foreheads of the believers’ and sprinkle holy water on their heads.
